In Vermegliano, a hamlet of Ronchi dei Legionari in the province of Gorizia, the Sagra de la Cesa is one of the community's most cherished festivals. The name, in local dialect, means "church festival": the event was indeed created to commemorate the dedication of the parish church of Saint Stephen, the protomartyr and deacon, and it is now a well-established tradition that in 2026 will reach its 52nd edition.
For three weekends, between late May and the first half of June, Piazzale Leda Bevilaqua transforms into the pulsating heart of the town, with a packed schedule of events for all ages.
Music, dancing, and shows
The program alternates dancing evenings with orchestras and bands, concerts by the youth band and the choir of Ronchi dei Legionari, dance performances, and entertainment moments like the musical "Strilloni in Prima pagina". A lineup that blends the tradition of popular dancing with family entertainment.
The flavors of the festival
Ample space is dedicated to gastronomy, with stalls offering the festival's specialties: homemade gnocchi, grilled meats, and traditional local dishes. Art exhibitions and a charity raffle complete the offerings, making the festival a convivial and supportive gathering.

Organized by the Pro Loco of Ronchi dei Legionari with the support of the Municipality of Ronchi dei Legionari and the parish, the Sagra de la Cesa is a living testament to a community that has gathered around its church and traditions for decades.

The 52nd edition
The Sagra de la Cesa returns to Vermegliano from May 29 to June 14, 2026 with three weekends of celebration in Piazzale Leda Bevilaqua. The program features dancing evenings with orchestras and bands (including René, Livio e Francesco Band, Fantasy, Souvenir, and Oasi), the musical "Strilloni in Prima pagina", dance performances by Club Diamante, and concerts by the youth band and the choir of Ronchi dei Legionari.
Art exhibitions, a charity raffle, and food stalls with homemade gnocchi and grilled meats are also part of the offerings.

How to get here
Vermegliano is a hamlet of Ronchi dei Legionari (GO), easily reachable by car from the A4 motorway (Redipuglia exit) and close to the Friuli Venezia Giulia Airport. The festival takes place in Piazzale Leda Bevilaqua.

Admission is free; food and drinks at the stalls are paid.
