About Durona Cherry Festival

The Chiampo Durona Cherry Festival is the historic fair dedicated to the Durona, the De.Co. cherry that symbolizes the Chiampo Valley. For days, Piazza Giacomo Zanella is filled with tastings, a producers' market, a food stand, sports events like the Durona Bike, and musical entertainment. One of the longest-running cherry festivals in the Veneto region, organized by the Pro Loco with the Municipality.

The Cherry Symbol of Chiampo

In Chiampo, in the province of Vicenza, the Durona is much more than a cherry: it is the identity product of the valley, recognized as De.Co. (Municipal Designation). Every year, between late May and June, the Durona Cherry Festival celebrates this fruit with an event that draws visitors from all over the Vicenza area, centered in Piazza Giacomo Zanella.

Tastings, Market, and Gastronomy

The program combines Durona cherry tastings, a producers' market, a food stand, and moments dedicated to the local culture. There are also spectacular initiatives, such as the preparation of a giant tart, and artisan stalls that liven up the town center.

Sports and Entertainment

The festival also embraces sports with the Durona Bike, a mountain bike race that winds through the hills of the Chiampo Valley, and offers music, animation, and entertainment for all ages. A complete fair, one of the longest-running in the Veneto region, which combines agricultural promotion, gastronomy, culture, and sport. The event is organized by the Pro Loco Chiampo together with the Municipality of Chiampo.
