Two nights of costumes, music, and entertainment in the heart of the Imperial Town
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
In Centuripe, a picturesque hilltop village in the province of Enna known as the Imperial City, carnival doesn't wait for winter. The Centuripe Summer Carnival flips tradition on its head, bringing masks, confetti, and a festive atmosphere to the peak of the Sicilian summer, treating the town to two nights of color, music, and fun under the stars. It is a young event that has already firmly established itself in the town's summer calendar, drawing large crowds of all ages.
The heart of the event is the costumed group parades, a true spectacle of color, sound, and movement winding through the historic center. The procession starts at Piazza Lanuvio and snakes through the village streets, concluding in Piazza Duomo, Centuripe's natural living room and the main stage for the festivities. Everyone is invited to join in freely with masks, costumes, colors, and sequins: there is no need to be part of an organized group to get into the spirit of the party.
The two nights combine live music, DJ sets, and performances in a program designed to engage both adults and children. Alongside the parades, there is space for dancing, themed evenings, roving entertainment, and activities for kids, while past editions have even featured striking performances like fire shows and late-night DJ sets in Piazza Duomo. It is a formula that blends popular tradition with modern flair, perfect for those wanting to experience a festive version of the Sicilian summer.
The Summer Carnival is organized by the Municipality of Centuripe in collaboration with the Associazione Cinque Caps, as part of the rich summer program that enlivens this town in the province of Enna, Sicily. Participation in the evenings is free, confirming the inclusive, grassroots nature of the event, which has grown over the years to become one of the most cherished highlights of the Centuripe summer.
The 2026 edition of the Centuripe Summer Carnival has not yet been officially announced. Based on previous editions, the event typically takes place at the end of August, featuring two nights of costumed parades from Piazza Lanuvio to Piazza Duomo, music, DJ sets, and entertainment for all ages. Dates and the detailed program will be communicated by the organizers later on: we recommend following the channels of the Municipality of Centuripe so you don't miss any updates.
