Cena dei Rivolti

In 2025, the Cena dei Rivolti in Cinigiano fell on Wednesday, March 5, the date of Ash Wednesday. Faithful to a tradition dating back to the 1950s, the community gathered in the center of the village to prepare and enjoy rivolti, polenta with pecorino and pepper, grilled salt cod, and crogetti, typical Carnival sweets.

This edition also featured the characteristic «baptism of the pig into salt cod», the ritual that symbolically transformed meat into fish to respect the rules of Lent, while accordion music accompanied dancing and toasts until late at night. The event was organized by the Pro Loco of Cinigiano.
