Cecatiello Festival

The 2025 edition of the Cecatiello Festival, the 49th, was held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, in San Marco ai Monti, a hamlet of the Municipality of Sant'Angelo a Cupolo, in the Province of Benevento, organized as always by the Pro Loco San Marco ai Monti.

The menu focused on the cecatiello, fresh pasta strictly hand-kneaded and dried on wooden boards according to ancient local customs, seasoned with a savory ragù. Alongside the signature dish, the stalls offered pork sausage, Abruzzese arrosticini — the novelty of that year —, french fries, montanare, traditional desserts, and Colli Beneventani wines. The evening was accompanied by live music, with dancing in the square until late at night.

On August 13th, the eve of the event, the preview took place in the village's parish hall: expert housewives, elderly guardians of tradition, teenagers, and children hand-prepared the pasta needed for the festival, in a moment of pure conviviality that the Pro Loco also documented on video. Local chronicles described the event as a historic gathering that attracts hundreds of visitors every year, confirming the cecatiello as the gastronomic symbol of the hamlet.
