The historic agricultural fair and the Catena Tripe Feast of Catena di Villorba
The Catena Cattle Fair, also known as the Sant'Elisabetta Village Feast or the Tripe Feast, is one of the most deeply rooted rural events in the Treviso area. It is held in Catena di Villorba, in the province of Treviso, organized by the Polisportiva di Catena together with the local parish.
The heart of the fair is the livestock exhibition on the first Monday of August, featuring cattle, farm animals, falconry, and an educational farm for children. This is complemented by the market of typical seasonal products. An event that attracts thousands of visitors every year — over 3,000 in the 2025 edition — with dozens of exhibitors.
The aroma of tripe accompanies the fair: prepared by volunteer cooks, it is the symbolic dish of the feast and is linked to the blessing of the livestock, in a ritual that intertwines peasant tradition and community celebration.
The 86th edition of the Catena Cattle Fair is expected in early August 2026, with the livestock exhibition on the first Monday of the month at the center of the Sant'Elisabetta and Tripe Feast of Catena di Villorba.
After the great success of the 2025 edition, with over 3,000 visitors and about forty exhibitors, the organizers have announced their intention to expand the event. The distinctive features remain: livestock exhibition, falconry, educational farm, market of typical products, and the tripe from volunteer cooks. The exact dates will be published closer to the event.
The program and exact dates for the 86th edition will be announced by the organizers shortly before the event. The established format includes, on the first Monday of August, the livestock exhibition with cattle and farm animals, falconry, the educational farm for children, the market of typical products, and the tasting of tripe prepared by volunteer cooks.
Catena is a hamlet of Villorba, reachable by car from the main roads of the Treviso area. The fair takes place in the village spaces of Catena.
The livestock exhibition is traditionally held on the first Monday of August, as part of the village feast which spans several days.
Free admission to the fair; tastings and food stands with paid consumption.
