About Carta…lupo

Carta…lupo is a festival dedicated to the world of paper that brings the village of Cantalupo in Sabina, in the province of Rieti, to life every spring. Books, newspapers, comics, postcards, stamps, and trading cards come together through exhibitions, creative workshops, presentations, and dedicated spaces for collecting and trading. Promoted by the Circolo Culturale Sabino «Elio Augusto Di Carlo» in partnership with the local Pro Loco and supported by the Municipality, the event transforms the historic center into a large cultural lounge open to families, curious visitors, and enthusiasts of all ages.

A festival dedicated to paper in the heart of Sabina

Carta…lupo is an event that celebrates the world of paper in all its infinite artistic and cultural forms. Every year, for one day, the village of Cantalupo in Sabina, in the province of Rieti (Lazio), transforms into a vast space open to creativity, where books, newspapers, comics, photographs, postcards, stamps, and trading cards become the protagonists of a journey through culture, memory, and discovery.

A journey through exhibitions, meetings, and collecting

The day unfolds across the historic center and the village squares, with a program rich in diverse thematic areas. Significant space is reserved for author meet-and-greets and literary presentations, while exhibitors—about twenty booksellers, artisans, and industry professionals—bring the village streets to life with stalls filled with books, prints, and collectibles.

  • Exhibitions and displays dedicated to paper and its history
  • Creative workshops and hands-on activities for adults and children
  • Trading and collecting spaces for books, newspapers, postcards, stamps, trading cards, and comics
  • An entertainment area dedicated to comics, pop culture, and board games

Focus on youth and collecting

Among the most popular attractions are the gaming area managed by the La Ludica association, designed for fans of pop culture and board games, and the trading space coordinated by the Poggio Mirteto scouts, dedicated to trading card collections, from Pokémon to football stickers. There is also a focus on the world of print media: one edition featured a special look at the situation of newsstands in the Rieti area, in collaboration with Sinagi Rieti and the newspaper Il Messaggero. Local schools participate actively with initiatives such as the Caviardage competition promoted with the Istituto Comprensivo Forum Novum.

An event for the whole family

Carta…lupo is designed to engage enthusiasts, families, and curious visitors of all ages. A food area remains open throughout the day, allowing visitors to enjoy the event until evening. The initiative is promoted by the Circolo Culturale Sabino «Elio Augusto Di Carlo», with the support of the Pro Loco and the patronage of the Municipality of Cantalupo in Sabina, highlighting paper as a tool for culture, communication, and creativity.

Cantalupo in Sabina, a village between history and nature

The event is the perfect opportunity to discover the charm of this corner of Lazio, combining a passion for paper and collecting with the beauty of an authentic Sabine village.
