About Carnival Run

The Carnival Run is Rimini's most colorful running event: a February morning where runners of all levels race in costume, amidst confetti and fancy dress, along the flat 8.5 km and 4 km routes in the Padulli area. Organized by ASD Golden Club Rimini International with the patronage of the Municipality of Rimini, it combines sport, carnival cheer, and a desire to be together, marking the opening of the Golden Events calendar each year.

The most cheerful run of the Rimini winter

The Carnival Run is now an unmissable event for the amateur running scene in Rimini and Romagna. Every February, right in the middle of Carnival season, hundreds of runners gather at the FIR Sports Village on Via Aida 21, in the Padulli area of the Municipality of Rimini, to tackle the flat courses dressed in costume, amidst showers of confetti and a festive atmosphere that transforms the race into a true village festival on two legs.

Sport and masks together

The event, organized by ASD Golden Club Rimini International — an athletics club rooted in the Rimini community since the early 2000s — with the patronage of the Municipality of Rimini, is more than just a race. It's a way to experience Carnival outdoors, where the costume matters more than the stopwatch: each year, the most original masks, one male and one female, are awarded prizes, along with the largest and most thematically dressed groups.

Two routes for everyone

The event offers two completely flat courses, ideal for athletes of all levels: an 8.5-kilometer loop and a shorter 4-kilometer route, suitable for families, children, and walkers. A warm refreshment awaits at the finish line with tea, mulled wine, and specialties, perfect for warming up after the winter run.

The opening of the Golden Events

The Carnival Run is also the opening event of the Golden Events, the series of running races promoted by the Golden Club throughout the year, and it is valid for the Mini Calendar of the UISP Cup. An opportunity to discover the sporty and popular side of Rimini, far from the summer beaches, in a city in Emilia-Romagna that knows how to be lively and welcoming even in the cold months.

Carnival Run — edition 2026

The 5th Carnival Run took place on Sunday, February 8, 2026, in Rimini, starting at 9:30 AM from the FIR Sports Village on Via Aida. Over 300 masked runners livened up the flat 8.5 km and 4 km courses. For the first time, alongside the historic non-competitive event, the 1st Carnival Run competitive race was introduced.

The 2026 edition of the Carnival Run marked an important novelty: alongside the traditional non-competitive event, now in its 5th edition, ASD Golden Club Rimini International introduced the 1st Carnival Run, a competitive race for registered athletes. The carnival atmosphere with confetti, costumes, and a great desire to have fun was confirmed, with the patronage of the Municipality of Rimini.

The event officially opened the Golden Events 2026 and was valid for the Mini Calendar of the UISP Cup, reaffirming its status as one of the most beloved running events at the start of the year in Rimini.
