Pontenure's Carnival in Piazza Re Amato

Carnival in the Square is the cheerful Carnival festival that takes place every year in the heart of Pontenure, a municipality in the province of Piacenza in Emilia-Romagna. The setting is Piazza Re Amato, which for an afternoon fills with costumes, colors, and music, transforming into a meeting point for families and children from the entire town and surrounding areas.

A Festival by Tribulon ODV

The event is conceived and organized by the Tribulon ODV Volunteer Association, a very active entity in the social and cultural life of Pontenure. More than just a costume party, Carnival in the Square is designed as a community moment: an opportunity to gather, have fun together, and at the same time, do good.

Entertainment, Games, and Acrobatic Superheroes

The afternoon kicks off in the early afternoon and offers a program full of entertainment for the little ones:

• Costume party with music and games for children and teens;
• The presence of the SuperEroiAcrobatici (SEA), costumed volunteers who engage the audience with entertainment and show moments;
• The costume contest: a special jury awards the most original costumes of the afternoon;
• Confetti, surprises, and snacks for the children.

Piacenza's culinary tradition is also present: in past editions, it was possible to taste and take home anolini, a signature dish of local cuisine.

A Carnival of Solidarity

The distinctive feature of Carnival in the Square is its charitable soul. Participation is free, and proceeds are collected solely through voluntary donations: the entire amount is then donated to local associations, including the Parish of Pontenure / Parish Caritas and the SEA – SuperEroiAcrobatici E.T.S. association. A concrete way to combine fun and support for those most in need.
