The Carnival of Savignano sul Rubicone
In the heart of Romagna, the Carnival in the Historic Center of Savignano sul Rubicone (province of Forlì-Cesena, Emilia-Romagna) is one of the most anticipated events of the winter season. For an entire afternoon, the streets and squares of the city center fill with masks, confetti, and cheer, in a celebration designed to involve the whole family.
A celebration for the whole city
The event is promoted by the Municipality of Savignano sul Rubicone together with the Koinè Cooperative, with the support of the parents' association "A scuola con Cesare", the Avis Group, and local sponsors. The Carnival has a strong link with local schools: students from the "Giulio Cesare" comprehensive institute participate en masse in the masked parades, creating a real competition between groups and classes.
Parades, shows, and sweets
The program alternates parades along the streets of the center, itinerant shows, music, and entertainment. There is no shortage of typical treats of the season, such as popcorn, cotton candy, hot chocolate, and mulled wine, while sweets and gadgets are tossed along the route for the little ones. It is a free, outdoor event that attracts thousands of people to the historic center of Savignano every year.

Savignano Carnival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Carnival in the Historic Center of Savignano sul Rubicone (FC) was held on Tuesday, February 17th, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, enlivening the streets of the center with parades, shows, music, and entertainment for the whole family. The event, promoted by the Municipality and the Koinè Cooperative, involved approximately 3,000 people, with significant participation from students of the "Giulio Cesare" comprehensive institute. Amidst confetti, balloons, and colorful parades, the historic center transformed into a grand festive space.

Afternoon of celebration in the streets and squares of the historic center, with masked parades, itinerant shows, music, and entertainment for families.
- Masked parades along the route from Piazza Borghesi towards the Pescheria Vecchia, with candy and gadget tosses every 30 minutes.
- Josie and Dave from the "Nador de la Nuit" company: clowning, improvisations, and giant bubbles.
- ChocoParade! with Willy Wonka aboard his car and chocolate distribution, by Accademia Creativa and Eurochocolate.
- Parade of dancing springs by Prestige Eventi.
- "The Wonderful Land of Alice" by Teatro Cinquequattrini in Piazza Amati.
Along the streets of the center: popcorn, cotton candy, hot chocolate, and mulled wine.
