The Cepina Carnival

Carnevaldisotto is the carnival celebration of the municipality of Valdisotto, in the province of Sondrio, and it takes place in the hamlet of Cepina, in Alta Valtellina. It is a traditional and cherished event that brings the community together for a day of joy, color, and fun for all ages.

The Float Parade

The heart of the event is the parade of floats, accompanied by masks and costumed groups. The meeting point is Piazza S. Antonio-Scleva, from where the procession begins, crossing the village in a riot of music and creativity. Participation with floats is free: groups can register with the Pro Loco, with prizes awarded to the best floats.

Dancing, Games, and Snacks

In addition to the parade, Carnevaldisotto offers a fun day of dancing, games, and snacks for everyone, with surprise entertainment designed especially for the little ones. The atmosphere is that of the genuine village festivals of Alta Valtellina, where the carnival tradition is renewed each year thanks to the commitment of volunteers.

A Community Celebration

Organized by Pro Loco Valdisotto, based in Cepina, Carnevaldisotto is one of the events that mark the village's winter calendar. It's an opportunity to discover the conviviality and community spirit that characterize this corner of Valtellina at the foot of the Bormio mountains.
