About Carnevalandia

Carnevalandia is the carnival of Torre Pedrera, a seaside resort in Rimini, designed especially for children and families. Every year Piazza Alessandro Sacchini transforms into an open-air stage, with a different theme that guides craft workshops, games, theatrical performances, and a parade of allegorical floats. A free afternoon of celebration, masks, and laughter, organized by the Torre Pedrera Tourist Committee, bringing the colorful atmosphere of Carnival to the Adriatic coast, even out of season.

Carnevalandia, the Carnival of Torre Pedrera

In the heart of winter, when the Rimini coastline experiences its quietest season, Torre Pedrera – the northernmost seaside resort in the Municipality of Rimini, in Emilia-Romagna – lights up with colors with Carnevalandia. It's the town's carnival, a celebration created for the little ones but capable of involving entire families, which for some years has become an anticipated event along the Romagna Riviera.

A Square That Becomes an Enchanted World

The center of the celebration is Piazza Alessandro Sacchini, which for an afternoon transforms into a large open-air stage. Each edition chooses a theme – a classic of fantasy or children's literature – that serves as a common thread for sets, costumes, entertainment, and floats. The town's streets are closed to traffic to allow children and adults to move safely among masks and characters.

What to Do at Carnevalandia

  • Craft workshops and creative activities designed for children;
  • Games and entertainment led by costumed characters;
  • Theatrical performances spread throughout the square;
  • The parade of allegorical floats, the highlight of the afternoon, accompanied by music and confetti;
  • Food stalls and typical Carnival sweets.

The event focuses heavily on inclusion: among the recurring initiatives is the collaboration with the Italian Celiac Association (AIC) of Rimini, with a dedicated stand for gluten-free snacks and products, so that every child can enjoy the party.

A Local Celebration

Carnevalandia is organized by the Torre Pedrera Tourist Committee, the association that enlivens the life of the resort throughout the year. The event is part of the rich calendar of carnivals in the Province of Rimini and the Romagna coast, offering residents and out-of-season tourists an opportunity for simple, free, and family-friendly celebration. For those visiting the Riviera in winter, it's an authentic way to discover the more village-like and welcoming side of Torre Pedrera.

The fourth edition of Carnevalandia took place on Sunday, February 8, 2026, in Piazza Alessandro Sacchini in Torre Pedrera, with a theme inspired by The Wizard of Oz. From 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM, the square was filled with workshops, games, and theatrical performances for children and families, culminating in the parade of allegorical floats at 4:30 PM. Free admission.

For its fourth edition, Carnevalandia chose The Wizard of Oz as its theme: Piazza Alessandro Sacchini, in Torre Pedrera, transformed into an enchanted world populated by characters from the famous story.
