Five days of village festival weaving together religious celebrations, culture, markets, and fun in Brianza
The Carnate Festival, organized under the banner "Between Sacred and Profane," is the most important spring event in the Municipality of Carnate, in the province of Monza and Brianza. Five days during which the spiritual and festive dimensions intertwine, involving the Parish of Saints Cornelius and Cyprian, the Municipality, and the Pro Loco in an articulated program that enlivens the town center.
The religious heart of the festival is on Sunday, with a solemn mass in the parish church and, in the afternoon, a procession with the statue of the Madonna through the village streets. These are moments of greatest participation, drawing the entire community around its faith traditions. In the preceding days, the parish church also hosts cultural events such as religious-themed theatrical performances and concerts.
Alongside the celebrations, the festival offers the full repertoire of a Brianza village festival: the funfair in Piazza del Mercato, markets along the town's streets, concerts by the Carnate town band, and the civic awards ceremony, a moment when the community recognizes the commitment of those who have distinguished themselves. This is the convivial and popular face of the event, transforming the village into a meeting place for families and visitors.
Carnate, an important railway hub in Monza Brianza, preserves in its festivals the identity of a community that holds together religious tradition and associative life. The "Between Sacred and Profane" Festival is its most complete expression: an event that, year after year, renews the bond between generations and tells the story of a territory where village festivals remain eagerly awaited appointments.
The 2026 edition of the Carnate Festival is held from April 9 to 13, with April 12 as the main day. Organized by the Parish, Municipality, and Pro Loco, the "Between Sacred and Profane" event combines religious celebrations and secular festivities in the town center, in the province of Monza and Brianza. Among the events: the solemn mass, the procession with the statue of the Madonna, concerts by the Carnate town band, theatrical performances, the funfair in Piazza del Mercato, and markets along Via Pace.
