A new festival in the heart of Capurso

In the summer of 2026, Capurso Classica was born, the inaugural edition of a festival entirely dedicated to great live music in the town of Capurso, in the Metropolitan City of Bari, Puglia. The initiative aims to promote musical culture through high-level performances, while enhancing the town's historic landmarks and offering residents and visitors an accessible and engaging artistic experience.

The formula is simple yet evocative: throughout the month of June, every Saturday at 8:00 PM, classical music takes center stage in one of the town's most iconic locations. It is a project designed to create a new summer cultural hub and to accompany the community throughout the season.

The Cloister of the Basilica della Madonna del Pozzo

At the heart of the festival is the Cloister of the Basilica della Madonna del Pozzo, the Marian sanctuary most cherished by the people of Capurso and a pilgrimage destination from across Puglia. Its historic architecture and intimate atmosphere provide an ideal setting for listening: the audience enjoys the concerts immersed in a context of great symbolic and heritage value, where sound intertwines with the devotional and artistic memory of the city.

The musical program

The lineup offers a varied program, capable of exploring different timbres and ensembles. On the stage set up in the cloister, talented duos, ensembles, saxophone quartets, pianists, and vocalists alternate, creating a sonic journey that spans the languages of classical music and showcases the artistic quality of the performers.

Artistic direction and organization

The artistic direction of the festival is entrusted to Maestro Fabio Sebastiano, who curated the selection of performers and the structure of the musical journey. The event is promoted by the Municipality of Capurso in collaboration with the TX Solution Association and Maschere e Tamburi, with Radio Orsa Capurso as one of the initiative's media partners.

With Capurso Classica, the Municipality of Capurso enriches its summer cultural offering, combining the enhancement of historical-religious heritage with high-quality musical programming. It is a bet on the dialogue between music and the local area that aims to become a permanent fixture in the summer calendar of this town in the Metropolitan City of Bari.
