In Carate Brianza, in the Province of Monza and Brianza, grassroots athletics has an event of honor: the final stage of the Brianzolo Cross Country Championship, now in its 39th edition. The race takes place in the Viale Garibaldi Park, at the Residenza Il Parco, where paths and meadows become the natural course for a cross-country challenge open to all categories.

The championship, organized by ASD Marciacaratesi in collaboration with Maxi Sport, is divided into six stages held on Saturday afternoons between January and March, in various municipalities of Brianza. The Carate stage is the last and most anticipated, the one that awards the decisive points and determines the overall winners. The races feature courses of varying lengths, designed to accommodate young and older runners, competitive athletes and amateurs.
