About Chestnut Festival

The Bracca Chestnut Festival is one of the most established autumn festivals in Val Serina, in the province of Bergamo: born in the 1960s to promote the village and the typical products of the valley, it now boasts over half a century of editions. Organized by the Pro Loco of Bracca, it offers roasted chestnuts, local gastronomy, musical evenings, traditional games, and the unmissable greasy pole, all in a festive atmosphere that brings the entire community together.

Chestnuts, the heart of Bracca's autumn

Bracca is a small municipality in Val Serina, in the province of Bergamo, once also known for its mineral water. Every autumn, the village gathers around the Chestnut Festival, an event that the Pro Loco has been organizing for over half a century: born in the 1960s to promote the village and the typical products of the valley, it has become one of the most anticipated events in the area.

Roasted chestnuts, music, and the greasy pole

Roasted chestnuts are the undisputed queens of the festival and perfume the village for its entire duration. The program, spread over two days, alternates local gastronomy, musical evenings, traditional games for adults and children, and the traditional greasy pole climb. The Alpini Group recreates an old tavern for the occasion, which becomes one of the festival's meeting points.

A community festival in Val Serina

The Chestnut Festival is the result of the work of the Pro Loco of Bracca and the village volunteers. It is an opportunity to discover Val Serina in autumn, with its villages, traditions, and genuine flavors, just a few kilometers from Bergamo.

Chestnut Festival โ€” edition 2026

The 2026 edition, the 60th, of the Bracca Chestnut Festival is expected in October in the village's Festival Area. After the 59th edition in 2025 (October 11-12), the Pro Loco will again offer roasted chestnuts, gastronomy, musical evenings, traditional games, and the greasy pole. Dates and program will be announced closer to the event.

In 2026, the Bracca Chestnut Festival reaches its 60th edition, expected as usual in October in the village's Festival Area. The Pro Loco will repeat the proven two-day format: roasted chestnuts, local gastronomy, a musical evening, traditional games for adults and children, and the traditional greasy pole climb. The complete timetable, with exact dates, will be published by the Pro Loco of Bracca in the weeks preceding the event.
