The Brabbia Marsh, a treasure trove of biodiversity

The Brabbia Marsh Nature Reserve and LIPU Oasis extends into the Municipality of Inarzo, in the province of Varese, and is one of Lombardy's most precious wetlands. A habitat for numerous species of waterfowl and birds of prey, the marsh is managed by LIPU (Italian League for Bird Protection) and is a reference point for birdwatching and environmental education. The Oasis Festival is the event that opens this natural treasure trove to the general public every spring.

A day of nature and discovery

The program is designed for all ages, from birdwatching enthusiasts to families with children. It begins in the morning with the observation of birds of prey in flight — buzzards, sparrowhawks, and falcons — accompanied by reserve experts, who explain their characteristics, flight patterns, and calls. Guided tours lead visitors along the marsh paths, binoculars in hand, to discover flora and fauna in their full spring splendor.

Activities for adults and children

For the little ones, there are itinerant stories: children become the protagonists of a tale along the reserve's paths, encountering quirky characters and missions to complete. There are also curious workshops like "Wild Herbs in the Pan," dedicated to identifying edible wild herbs from the oasis meadows, and botanical treasure hunts. A fun and practical way to bring adults and children closer to respecting nature.
