A festival born among the trees

The Boscadrà Festival is a special event held at Cascina Barbàn, in the Figino hamlet of Albera Ligure, in the Province of Alessandria, in the heart of Val Borbera. We are in the Apennines on the border between Piedmont and Liguria, in a landscape of forests and ancient rural villages that the Cascina Barbàn agricultural collective has chosen to revive. The festival was born in 2013, when the founders of the farm imagined on the streets of Genoa what they could organize in the place they had just purchased: since then, Boscadrà has grown edition after edition, while remaining faithful to its intimate and familiar scale.

Land and art, a different theme every year

What makes Boscadrà different from many other festivals is its deep connection to the land and manual craftsmanship. Each edition revolves around a theme that changes from year to year: ranging from animal traction to walking, from natural bread-making to identifying wild herbs. The festival combines cultural dissemination with a focus on environmental sustainability, inviting the public to question the relationship between human beings and nature through meetings, debates, and moments of collective discussion.

What to experience at Boscadrà

During the festival days, numerous experiences alternate, all immersed in the greenery of the farm:

• Concerts and DJ sets with artists from the Italian independent scene
• Theater, comedy, and performances outdoors
• Hiking in the forests of Val Borbera and yoga sessions
• Hands-on workshops for adults and children: tailoring, herb identification, mixology, and an introduction to natural wine
• Convivial meals with local products, from farmhouse breakfasts to dinner

Everything takes place in close contact with nature, in a slow and welcoming atmosphere that invites you to slow down and rediscover the value of small gestures and mountain communities.

Organized by Cascina Barbàn together with APS Paradiso Val Borbera, Boscadrà is much more than just an event: it is a way to enhance the beauty of this valley in the Piedmontese Apennines, experimenting with innovative and sustainable approaches capable of generating concrete benefits for the area. A weekend designed for those looking for culture, music, and nature far from mass tourism.
