About Borgo Master Project
A musical project in the heart of the Rieti region
The Borgo Master Project is a high-level musical training festival held in Borgo Velino, a town in the province of Rieti, Lazio. Promoted by the Pro Loco of Borgo Velino with the support of the local municipality, the event transforms this small village into a key destination for showcasing young regional talent every summer.
Two paths: guitar and piano
At the heart of the project are the Concert & Lab sessions, which blend individual study, group workshops, and concert performances. The program is divided into two distinct paths: one dedicated to the guitar and one to the piano, led by professors from Italian conservatories.
The masterclasses are guided by renowned masters associated with the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, the F. Morlacchi Conservatory in Perugia, and the A. Casella Conservatory in L'Aquila. Students, often young instrumentalists in training, alternate between open lessons, rehearsals, and discussions with their professors.
Concerts open to the community
Alongside the educational aspect, the Borgo Master Project offers a series of public concerts that mark the highlights of each program. Over the years, the open lessons and final performances have attracted the curiosity and enthusiasm of residents and neighboring communities, turning the village into a vibrant cultural hub during the summer months.

Launched in 2023, the project has grown with each edition, confirming Borgo Velino's commitment to combining high-level musical education with community engagement. The festival is part of a tradition in the small towns of the Rieti Apennines where, thanks to the efforts of local associations, great music is brought beyond the circuits of major cities.

Borgo Master Project 2026 — 4th Edition
The fourth edition of the Borgo Master Project, promoted by the Pro Loco of Borgo Velino with the support of the Municipality, is divided in 2026 into two Concert & Lab sessions dedicated to guitar and piano, respectively. Each track combines individual study, group workshops, and public concerts, confirming the village's commitment to nurturing young musical talent.

Guitar Concert & Lab — July 30 to August 3, 2026
Guitar masterclass led by Maestro Leonardo De Angelis (Santa Cecilia Conservatory, Rome) and Maestro Antonio Pantaleo (F. Morlacchi Conservatory, Perugia).

Piano Concert & Lab — August 26 to 30, 2026
Piano masterclass led by Maestro Elena Matteucci (A. Casella Conservatory, L'Aquila).

How to get there
Borgo Velino is located in the province of Rieti, along the Velino Valley in northeastern Lazio. By car, it can be reached via the SS4 Salaria; the reference railway stations are on the Terni-Rieti-L'Aquila line. The nearest airports are in Rome.
