Borgo in Festa, also known as Festa nel Borgo, is the event that transforms the historic center of Castro dei Volsci, in the province of Frosinone, into a vibrant trail of taste, art, and tradition every spring. Organized by the La Scarana APS association with the patronage of the Municipality of Castro dei Volsci and the Lazio Region, the festival began in 2024 and has quickly established itself as one of the most anticipated events in the Ciociaria area.

One of Italy's most beautiful villages

Castro dei Volsci is part of the Borghi più Belli d'Italia (Most Beautiful Villages in Italy) network and proudly holds the Orange Flag from the Italian Touring Club. Perched on a scenic hill overlooking the Sacco River valley, this medieval village offers breathtaking views, stone-paved alleys, and the Sant'Oliva viewpoint. It is in this setting, along the characteristic Via Civita, that the festival's entire itinerary unfolds.

The culinary trail

At the heart of the event is the gastronomic trail that winds through the historic center: local cellars and workshops open their doors to visitors, while stalls serve authentic Ciociaria traditional dishes and local specialties. It is an itinerary designed for savoring local cuisine while strolling among the village's stone houses.

Among the most distinctive attractions is the Picchero toss, an ancient folk game rooted in peasant memory that engages both adults and children, showcasing the community's rural heritage.
