Four days of books and publishing along Bordighera's Corso Italia
The Bordighera Book Festival is the grand publishing celebration of Bordighera, a town in the western Liguria region in the province of Imperia. Every summer, at the end of August, the elegant Corso Italia — the town's pedestrianised main street — fills with exhibition stands from publishers across the country, transforming the promenade into a large open-air bookstore.
The heart of the festival lies in the opportunity to browse and purchase new editorial releases and titles that are less readily available in bookstores, directly from the publishers. It's a valuable chance for the most curious readers to discover small publishing houses, special collections, and books they would rarely find elsewhere.
Alongside the stands, the festival offers a rich programme of literary presentations held in three spaces along Corso Italia — Buga Buga, Spazio Europa, and Piazzetta Savoy — where authors meet the public, talk about their books, and engage in dialogue with readers. Admission to all activities is free.
With its mild climate, palm trees, and its tradition as a destination for intellectuals and artists, Bordighera provides the ideal setting for a book festival. The Bordighera Book Festival combines a passion for reading with the charm of the Riviera dei Fiori, offering four days of culture accessible to everyone, just a stone's throw from the sea.
The 2026 edition of the Bordighera Book Festival enlivens Corso Italia for four days, from August 27th to 30th. Stands from publishing houses across Italy will showcase new releases and titles that are hard to find in bookstores, while literary presentations will take place in three locations along the corso: Buga Buga, Spazio Europa, and Piazzetta Savoy. The detailed schedule of author meetings will be published on the official website closer to the event. Admission to all activities is free.
The complete schedule of presentations will be published on the official website closer to the event.
Bordighera is served by the train station on the Genoa–Ventimiglia line. By car, it can be reached from the Bordighera exit of the A10 motorway. The festival takes place along Corso Italia, in the pedestrian centre.
