The week of digital innovation and artificial intelligence in Bologna
Bologna Tech Week is the major event that transforms the capital of Emilia-Romagna into a widespread stage dedicated to technological innovation every late November. For an entire week, the Municipality of Bologna hosts a packed calendar of events in various city locations: presentations, round tables, meetups, hackathons, workshops, bootcamps, and networking moments involving digital professionals, businesses, startups, students, and the simply curious.
The common thread is artificial intelligence, explored in all its applications: from marketing to online research, from business processes to creativity. Alongside AI, the program delves into the major themes of digital transformation: social media, big data, startups, emerging technologies, as well as the strategic sectors of the Bologna area such as automotive, tourism, and food. Each edition addresses a core theme that tells the story of the relationship between the city and technological change.
The strength of Bologna Tech Week lies in its distributed nature: instead of concentrating in a single location, the event animates various spaces in the city, including DumBO, the Centro San Domenico, The Social Hub, Le Serre di ART-ER, the Search On Studios, and MUG - Magazzini Generativi. Many events are free (often requiring registration), while others are paid, particularly the major professional events like Social Media Strategies and Search Tech, which attract speakers and creators from all over Italy.
Born in 2023 and organized by Search On Media Group together with WMF - We Make Future, with the patronage of the Metropolitan City and the Municipality of Bologna, Bologna Tech Week has become a national reference point for the AI & Digital Tech ecosystem in just a few editions. The 2025 edition surpassed 40 events and attracted over 10,000 participants, confirming Bologna as one of the most dynamic innovation hubs in Italy and Emilia-Romagna.
The 2026 edition of Bologna Tech Week is confirmed from November 28 to December 5, 2026. As every year, the event will offer a distributed calendar of events in various venues of the Municipality of Bologna, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence, digital technologies, social media, big data, and startups.
The call for event applications is currently open: organizers and companies can propose presentations, round tables, meetups, hackathons, workshops, artistic performances, and concerts that will make up the official program. The details of the events, speakers, and venues will be announced in the months preceding the event on the official website.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be published by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event.
