The travelling festival of craft beer and street food in Piazza Leopardi, Recanati
Birragustando is a travelling event entirely dedicated to craft beer and quality street food which, in May 2026, stopped in Recanati, in the province of Macerata, in the Marche region. For an entire weekend, the famous Piazza Giacomo Leopardi, the heart of the poet's birthplace, came alive with stalls, beer taps, shared tables, and music, transforming into a large open-air lounge.
The absolute star is craft beer: a selection of niche, high-quality productions, designed for enthusiasts but also for the curious who want to discover particular styles, unique aromas, and new food pairings. Tastings are offered in an informal and convivial atmosphere, ideal for families and groups of friends.
Alongside the beer, a rich offering of street food that combines national and international tradition. Among the specialities: Argentinian cuisine, Sicilian sweets, paella, empanadas, and numerous other offerings, alongside the gastronomic specialities of the Marche region. Not just simple food trucks, but a true quality culinary experience.
The 2026 programme included three evenings of entertainment. Street artist Giorgio Bravo performed on Friday 15th and Sunday 17th May, while on Saturday 16th, DJ Floriano brought back the great dance hits of the eighties and nineties to the square. For the little ones, the Soniando play area with inflatables and attractions.
Organised in collaboration with Confartigianato Imprese Macerata-Ascoli Piceno-Fermo and with the patronage of the Municipality of Recanati, Birragustando promotes beer craftsmanship and local gastronomic excellences, bringing social interaction and economy to the city's historic centre. The setting is exceptional: the same square dominated by the monument to Giacomo Leopardi, a stone's throw from the city's most famous Leopardi sites.
