Edition 2025 — Biodiversity Fair

The second edition of the Biodiversity Fair took place from October 17th to 19th, 2025, at Masseria Ferragnano in Locorotondo, home of the CRSFA "Basile Caramia". Three days of scientific conferences, a market exhibition, guided tastings by AIS Puglia, the "Biodiversity Garden" pomological exhibition, children's workshops, and live music, celebrating Apulian agricultural germplasm and the recovery of ancient varieties.

2025 Edition — October 17-19

The second edition of the Biodiversity Fair brought Masseria Ferragnano in Locorotondo to life for three days. Friday, October 17th, was the scientific day, bringing together researchers, nurserymen, and farmers to discuss the recovery of Apulian viticultural, olive, and fruit germplasm (figs, peaches, apricots, cherries, plums, almonds), with contributions from international experts on biodiversity, sustainability, and climate adaptation, followed by a guided tasting by AIS Puglia at the "G. Boccardi" Auditorium.

Saturday, October 18th, starting at 9:30 AM, the official ceremony—hosted by Monica Caradonna—saw the inauguration of the market exhibition and the naming of the Regional Biodiversity Conservation Centre after Prof. Vito Nicola Savino, alongside the presentation of the book "Piante e popoli," a musical show dedicated to bees, guided tours of the Biodiversity Museum, and the "The Biodiversity Garden" pomological exhibition.

Sunday, October 19th, was dedicated to families with "Hands in the Earth" workshops, tastings with food trucks and local products, Slow Food Earth Markets from Martina Franca and Crispiano, debates on ancient grains and livestock (sheep and goats), and biodiversity games, concluding with awards, comedy, and concerts.
