Two-wheeled emotions on the roads of the Parma Apennines
The BikeDay Vallinbici is the late summer event for two-wheel enthusiasts in Bedonia, in the Province of Parma, in the heart of the upper Valtaro and Valceno. Organized by A.S.D. Vallinbici, the cycling club that has been promoting the Parma Apennine territory for years, the event is a non-competitive cycling tourism event that brings together those who love the road and those who prefer off-road on a single day.
The beauty of BikeDay is its dual offering. On one hand, the road race, which winds along the passes and valleys of Parma with challenging climbs and scenic descents, designed for those seeking the kilometers and elevation gain of the Apennines. On the other hand, the mountain bike excursion, which takes participants on the trails of Monte Pelpi and through the woods surrounding Bedonia, with routes of varying lengths suitable for both experts and those who simply want to enjoy nature.
Bedonia is one of the reference points for cycling tourism in the Parma Apennines, nestled between Monte Pelpi and Monte Penna, on the border between Emilia-Romagna, Liguria, and Tuscany. It is a territory of silent valleys, mountain passes, and little-trafficked roads, ideal for those seeking an authentic cycling experience. Over the years, A.S.D. Vallinbici has built a true community of cyclists here, with events like the Bedonia Mountain Bike Tour and the Pelpi Trail that have fostered a passion for cycling throughout the area.
The BikeDay Vallinbici is not a race: it is a day to be enjoyed with friends, to discover the roads and trails of Bedonia and the upper Valtaro by bike, in one of the most beautiful and least known areas of Emilia-Romagna.
The BikeDay Vallinbici 2026 is scheduled for Sunday, September 6, 2026, in Bedonia, Province of Parma. The date was officially announced by A.S.D. Vallinbici, which confirms the event's dual offering: a non-competitive road race through the passes of Parma and a mountain bike excursion on the trails of Monte Pelpi.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition — routes, distances, elevation gains, meeting and start times, registration fees, and refreshment stops — will be published by the organization in the weeks preceding the event. For updates, please refer to the official website of A.S.D. Vallinbici and its social media channels.
