About Bugatti Segantini Prize

For over sixty years, Nova Milanese has been the capital of contemporary art for a summer, thanks to the Bice Bugatti – Giovanni Segantini International Prize. The exhibition confers an award on a prominent artist and hosts a solo exhibition in the city's historic villas, in Brianza. Side exhibitions, meetings, and a collection that gathers works from over twenty countries make this prize one of the longest-running and most prestigious art events in the Province of Monza and Brianza.

A historic art prize

The Bice Bugatti – Giovanni Segantini International Prize is one of Italy's longest-running artistic events, hosted in Nova Milanese, in the Province of Monza and Brianza. Each year, the prize is awarded to an artist of recognized merit, who is dedicated a solo exhibition in the city's historic villas, particularly Villa Vertua Masolo and Villa Brivio.

The villas and the collection

The heart of the event lies in the historic residences of Nova Milanese, which transform into exhibition spaces for several weeks. Alongside the solo exhibition of the awarded artist, the prize typically features a collateral exhibition drawing from the rich Bugatti Segantini Prize collection — a heritage of hundreds of works from over twenty countries, the result of decades of editions.

An event for Brianza

Organized by the Libera Accademia di Pittura «Vittorio Viviani» together with the Rossi Foundation and with the support of the Municipality of Nova Milanese, the prize is more than just an exhibition: it is a cultural event that combines exhibitions, conferences, and convivial moments like the "Dinner with Art." For enthusiasts and those wishing to discover the lesser-known Brianza, it is a precious opportunity to experience contemporary art in a refined setting.

In parallel, at Villa Vertua and Villa Brivio, the collateral exhibition "Incombenza della Pittura" displays works from the prize's historical collection.
