Biblofestival

A month of celebration for children

Biblofestival is the major travelling review dedicated to childhood that crosses the province of Bergamo every spring, also stopping in Stezzano. Promoted by the library systems of the Dalmine and North-West Bergamasca areas, the festival offers a packed schedule of free events, all designed for children, teenagers, and their families.

What to do

The programme blends different languages and disciplines:

• street theatre performances;
• animated readings and storytelling;
• jugglers, acrobatics, and soap bubbles;
• creative workshops where children become inventors, artists, and explorers;
• meetings with authors and illustrators for young people.

All events are free and take place in indoor spaces, even in case of rain.

A festival spread across the territory

Biblofestival does not have a single venue: it is a travelling festival that involves over twenty municipalities in the Bergamasca region, transforming libraries, squares, and courtyards into stages for childhood. Stezzano is one of the stops on the tour, bringing some of the over fifty scheduled performances to the town. The artistic direction is curated by Simonetta Rovelli, with the collaboration of organisations active in children's theatre in the area.

A well-established tradition in Lombardy

Now in its twenty-third edition, Biblofestival is a much-anticipated event of the Bergamasca spring and one of the richest offerings in the Lombardy Region in the field of theatre and entertainment for children. Its strength lies in its roots in community libraries, making it a widespread and accessible cultural project for everyone.
