The Chioggia stop of the festival that dialogues the Bible with contemporary culture
The Biblical Festival is one of the most well-known cultural and spiritual events in northeastern Italy: born in Vicenza, it is now a traveling festival that crosses various cities in the Veneto region and beyond, creating a dialogue between biblical texts and culture, philosophy, art, and current events. The stop in Chioggia, a lagoon city in the province of Venice, is one of the most anticipated appointments on the program.
The Chioggia stop offers five days of meetings, conferences, workshops, theater, and music, hosted in the most evocative locations in the city: the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, the Art Gallery of the Santissima Trinità, and the San Nicolò Auditorium. Each year, the festival chooses a guiding theme around which the speakers' reflections revolve.
Among the guests are theologians, biblical scholars, intellectuals, and prominent personalities – such as Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, one of the most authoritative scholars of the Bible. The meetings, with free admission, are designed for a wide audience and not just for believers: an opportunity to reflect, through the lens of sacred texts, on the great questions of human existence, in one of the most fascinating art cities in the Veneto.
The 2026 edition, the 22nd, of the Biblical Festival hosts the final stop of the traveling tour in Chioggia (VE), from May 28 to June 1, on the theme 'The Power of Limit'. Five days of meetings, conferences, theater, and music in the city's most beautiful locations, with prominent speakers and free admission. The festival addresses the limit as an essential element of the human experience, a space for relationships, responsibility, freedom, and care.
Free admission (booking recommended or required for some events).
Chioggia can be reached by car from the SS309 Romea or from the A4 (Padova Est exit and then SR516). The events take place in the Cathedral, the SS. Trinità Art Gallery, and the San Nicolò Auditorium, in the historic center.
Historic center of Chioggia (VE), between late May and early June, five days of events. Free admission (booking recommended for some appointments).
