About Besano Night Carnival
A Carnival That Shines in the Dark
The Besano Night Carnival overturns tradition: instead of the usual afternoon parade, here the floats and masks parade at dusk. We are in Besano, a municipality in the Province of Varese at the foot of Monte San Giorgio, a UNESCO site famous for its fossils, in a corner of Valceresio near the Swiss border.
The Evening Parade
The event begins in the late afternoon, when floats and masked groups set off from the historic center to parade through it, illuminated, amidst confetti and lights. And it is precisely the night setting that makes the event unique: an experience "that shines in the dark", as the organizers describe it, capable of transforming the village streets into a suggestive stage under the stars.
Party at the Feste Area
Once the parade is over, the celebrations continue at the municipal Feste Area with a DJ set to dance to and a selection of street food to recharge your energy. Organized by the Municipal Administration of Besano together with local associations, the Night Carnival was born in 2025 and has immediately established itself as one of the most original events of the Varese Carnival.
Besano Night Carnival — edition 2026
The second edition of the Night Carnival confirms the evening formula: parade of illuminated floats and masks through the historic center starting at 4:00 PM, followed by the party at the Feste Area with DJ set and street food selection. A suggestive atmosphere that distinguishes Besano from traditional daytime parades.
