Edition 2025 — Belice Cheese Exhibition
27th edition "The Taste of Roots" (2025)
The 2025 edition of the Belice Valley Cheese Exhibition and Ricotta Festival was held in Poggioreale (TP) on November 8-9, 2025, under the title "The Taste of Roots." It was a particularly significant edition, as it coincided with the prestigious recognition of City of Cheese 2025 conferred upon the village by the National Organization of Cheese Tasters (ONAF), which rewarded the quality of the Vastedda della Valle del Belìce DOP and Pecorino Siciliano DOP, as well as the work of local farmers.
Along the stalls in the center, visitors were able to taste peppered pecorino, fresh and aged Sicilian pecorino, red pecorino, pecorino with olives and walnuts, caciocavallo, freshly made ricotta, and traditional desserts like sfinci and cappiduzzi. The two days alternated between guided tastings, cooking shows, live music, and entertainment, confirming the festival as one of the benchmark food and wine events in Western Sicily.
