The Carnival of the Bareggia District

In the Bareggia district of Lissone, in the province of Monza and Brianza, Carnival is experienced as a community celebration. The Bareggia Carnival is promoted by the pastoral community of Saint Teresa Benedicta of the Cross and involves the district's parish, with the oratory serving as the meeting and starting point.

The Masked Parade

The heart of the festival is the masked parade: the gathering is at the oratory in the early afternoon, from where the procession departs shortly after, crossing the district's streets. Costumes, masked groups, and active participation transform the streets of Bareggia into an open-air stage, where children and families are the main stars.

The Bareggia Carnival does not focus on the spectacularity of large floats but on the value of community bonding and neighborhood involvement.
