The sixth edition of the Barbera Fish Festival
From October 11th to 13th, 2024, Agliano Terme, in the Monferrato area of Asti, hosted the sixth edition of the Barbera Fish Festival, the last one in its traditional autumn format before moving to spring.
The schools' challenge
The main event was the Baccalà and Stockfish Challenge, held on Friday, October 11th, at the Colline Astigiane Vocational Training Agency: five hospitality schools—three from Piedmont, one from Liguria, and for the first time, one from Norway (Tromsø)—competed by creating dishes based on salt cod and stockfish paired with Barbera d'Asti.
Special guests included Michelin-starred chef Ivano Ricchebono and members of the Norwegian Culinary Team. The weekend featured tastings and dishes prepared by students alongside Norwegian chefs in the historic center, with local Barbera producers pairing their wines with every bite.
