The largest European gathering of bicycle travellers, in the park of Villa Contarini
BAM! Bicycle Adventure Meeting is the main European gathering dedicated to those who travel by bicycle. Every year, in June, it attracts thousands of participants from all over Europe to the monumental park of Villa Contarini in Piazzola sul Brenta, in the province of Padova: 50 hectares of greenery that for a weekend become a large community of cycle tourists, dreamers, and adventurers.
BAM! is a festival made of travel stories, music, workshops, tales, social rides, exhibitions, product presentations, dawn breakfasts, and evening beers. The bicycle is the common thread, but not the only protagonist: it talks about nature, well-being, road safety, female empowerment, slowness, and discovery. Among the protagonists are travellers recounting their round-the-world trips on two wheels, women's and queer collectives, and foundations dedicated to cycling safety.
The programme alternates between nature workshops in the park, yoga and breathing sessions, gravel rides and excursions to discover the territory, meetings with authors, and film screenings. In the evening, the festival comes alive with concerts and DJ sets on stage, in an atmosphere that combines adventure and conviviality. Many participants stay in the campsite in the park, experiencing the gathering to the fullest.
The venue for the gathering is Villa Contarini, one of the most imposing Venetian villas, overlooking the large square of Piazzola sul Brenta. Its 50-hectare park, with meadows, monumental trees, and bodies of water, offers the ideal setting for a festival that celebrates slow travel and the relationship with nature, just a few kilometres from Padova and the Euganean Hills.
The 2026 edition, the twelfth, of the BAM! Bicycle Adventure Meeting was held from June 5 to 7 in the park of Villa Contarini. The festival brought together thousands of cycle tourists from all over Europe for meetings, travel stories, workshops, social rides, cinema, and outdoor activities. Among the programme's protagonists were travellers recounting their round-the-world trips on two wheels, women's and queer collectives dedicated to well-being and empowerment, and the Michele Scarponi Foundation with talks on road safety. Music enlivened the evenings with DJ sets and concerts.
Piazzola sul Brenta can be reached by car from Padova along the SP47 (about 25 minutes). By train, Padova station is connected by intercity buses. The gathering takes place in the park of Villa Contarini, in Via Luigi Camerini 1.
