The uphill speed race on the roads of the Nebrodi Mountains
The Autoslalom Città di Ucria is an uphill speed car competition held in Ucria, a small mountain town in the province of Messina, nestled within the Nebrodi Mountains Park. The race takes place along a stretch of the Strada Statale 116, where cones are placed for competitors to navigate in the shortest time possible, in a challenge that tests driving precision and knowledge of the course.
Established in 2022, the event has grown with every edition to become one of the most followed appointments in the Sicilian slalom scene: in 2024, the race saw a surge in entries, with over 130 cars at the start, a testament to the drivers' appreciation for such a technical and spectacular track.
The Autoslalom Città di Ucria is a titled race that awards points for various rankings in the Southern Italian motorsport circuit. The current edition is valid for:
The competition attracts vehicles of every category, from prototypes and formula single-seaters to touring sedans, with drivers coming from all over Sicily and, in some cases, neighboring regions.
The event is organized by ASD Ucria Racing in collaboration with Misilmeri Racing, under the patronage of the Municipality of Ucria. Beyond the sporting aspect, the event serves as a powerful tool for promoting the local area: during the race weekend, the Nebrodi village fills with enthusiasts, providing a positive boost to local accommodation and businesses. The awards ceremony traditionally takes place in Piazza Padre Bernardino, in the center of Ucria.
The format generally includes technical and sporting checks on Saturday, followed by the race heats on Sunday: after a reconnaissance run, drivers tackle the timed heats on the Statale 116 track. The sum of the times determines the final, group, and overall standings. The race, included in the Sicilian and Southern Italian slalom calendar, represents one of the season's highlights in the Nebrodi Mountains, in Sicily.
The fifth edition of the Autoslalom Città di Ucria is confirmed for Sunday, September 6, 2026, with the usual course on the Strada Statale 116 in Ucria, in the Nebrodi Mountains (province of Messina). The date was announced by ASD Ucria Racing in the 2026 season calendar, which features the Ucria slalom as a benchmark race and the final event of their organizational activities.
For 2026, the race will once again be valid for the Sicilian Slalom Championship, the Nebrodi Trophy, and the South Trophy, confirming the high level achieved by the event. The detailed program (times for checks, race heats, and entry list) will be published by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event.
Ucria is located in the Nebrodi Mountains, in the hinterland of the province of Messina. By car, it can be reached via the A20 Messina-Palermo motorway (exits Brolo or Patti-Tindari) by heading inland; the race takes place along the Strada Statale 116. The nearest airport is Catania-Fontanarossa.
