The plant and flower market in the heart of Ascoli Piceno
When spring arrives, the historic center of Ascoli Piceno dresses in colors and scents with Ascoli in Fiore, the market dedicated to plants and flowers, also known as "The City in Bloom." For an entire weekend, one of Italy's most elegant squares, the famous travertine Piazza del Popolo, along with the Loggia dei Mercanti and Via del Trivio, transforms into a charming open-air garden, where nurseries, artisans, and producers display their floral-themed creations.
The event offers a wide variety of ornamental, aromatic, succulent, and flowering plants, suitable for every home space, from city balconies to country gardens. Alongside greenery, visitors can browse stalls offering Deruta pottery, colorful Tunisian handicrafts, wooden objects for indoor and outdoor decor, as well as food and wine products like honey and spices, and refined artistic creations inspired by the world of flowers.
Now in its third edition in 2026, Ascoli in Fiore has established itself as one of the most anticipated events of the Ascoli spring. The edition took place coinciding with Palm Sunday, offering citizens and tourists the ideal opportunity to refresh their balconies, terraces, and gardens for the upcoming season. The setting of the historic center, with its Renaissance palaces and medieval alleys, makes strolling among the stalls an experience that combines green shopping with the discovery of the city''s heritage.
The event is organized and promoted by the Municipality of Ascoli Piceno, in the province of Ascoli Piceno, in the far south of the Marche region. The choice of Piazza del Popolo is no coincidence: considered one of the most beautiful urban lounges in Italy, the square provides the perfect backdrop for an event that celebrates natural beauty and local craftsmanship. As the municipal administration has emphasized, Ascoli in Fiore is also a great opportunity to showcase the city and attract a wide audience thanks to the variety of offerings.
The third edition of Ascoli in Fiore was held on Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, in the heart of Ascoli Piceno's historic center. The event enlivened Piazza del Popolo, the Loggia dei Mercanti, and Via del Trivio, coinciding with Palm Sunday.
