The fair that showcases Italian modern and contemporary art, in the heart of Verona
Founded in 2005, ArtVerona is Veronafiere's modern and contemporary art fair and has established itself over the years as one of the main showcases for the art system in Italy. Every October, the halls of the Verona exhibition center host selected galleries, collectors, curators, and artists, in a journey that intertwines the language of the modern with that of contemporary research.
The fair is divided into several exhibition sections that give space to both the great masters of the 20th century and emerging artists. Alongside the Main Section, where modern and contemporary art dialogue, there are thematic sections dedicated to painting, photography, art publishing, and emerging galleries, as well as a schedule of cinema and podcasts that accompanies the event.
ArtVerona is not just a fair: it is a network of relationships that throughout the year offers visits to private collections, artist studios, and museums, with a program dedicated to collectors. Numerous awards and acquisitions concretely support participating artists and galleries, making the event a driving force for growth in the market and research.
Taking place in Verona, a UNESCO World Heritage city in the province of Verona (Veneto Region), the fair dialogues contemporary art with one of Italy's richest historical urban contexts, offering visitors and enthusiasts an experience that goes beyond the exhibition stands.
The 21st edition of ArtVerona confirms the artistic direction of Laura Lamonea, in her second consecutive year, and proposes the theme 'In parentheses' as a common thread, inspired by Dick Higgins' concept of Intermedia: meaning expands in the space between the actors of the art system. The fair takes place in halls 11 and 12 of Veronafiere with opening hours from 11 am to 7 pm (last entry 6:30 pm).
Visits to private collections, artist studios, and museums throughout the year, with collaborations (including Pictet Wealth Management and a meeting at Villa Medici in Rome). Awards, residencies, and acquisitions for artists and galleries.
Veronafiere is located at Viale del Lavoro, in Verona, easily accessible by car from the Verona Sud motorway exit (A4/A22) and by public transport from the Verona Porta Nuova station.
Admission is subject to a fee; information on prices and advance booking is available on the official website artverona.it.
