About Artists on the Mount

In Monte Santa Maria Tiberina, an ancient village perched on the border between Umbria and Tuscany in the province of Perugia, Artisti al Monte transforms the halls of the Bourbon del Monte Castle into a large collective exhibition. Painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, fashion, comics, poetry, and digital art: over sixty Italian and international artists engage each year on a different theme. The 2026 edition, the fourteenth, is dedicated to water and landscape, with the photographic exhibition 'Sister Water' in the year of the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis.

A widespread exhibition in the castle

Artisti al Monte is the art festival that animates Monte Santa Maria Tiberina every spring, a charming village in the province of Perugia located on the border with Tuscany, in a panoramic position overlooking the Upper Tiber Valley. Now in its 14th edition in 2026, the event sets up a large collective exhibition in the halls of the Bourbon del Monte Palace Museum, the ancient castle that dominates the town.

Over 60 artists and many disciplines

The exhibition brings together over sixty artists, Italian and international, who display works of painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, drawing, fashion, comics, poetry, and digital art. Completing the experience are workshops, installations, and literary presentations that make the festival an immersive and multidisciplinary experience, capable of enhancing the historical heritage of the village.

The 2026 theme: water and landscape

The 2026 edition revolves around the theme of water and landscape. The heart of the exhibition is the photographic exhibition 'Sorella Acqua' (Sister Water), a visual, auditory, tactile, meditative, and inclusive itinerary, set up in the year of the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis, whose Canticle of the Creatures gives the exhibition its title. A tribute that links contemporary art, Franciscan spirituality, and the identity of the territory.
