Edition 2025 — Appicicchia

The 2025 edition of Appicicchia took place on Sunday, July 13, in Castelmuzio (Trequanda). Teams gathered in Piazza della Pieve to compete in hand-rolling pici under the judgment of two distinct juries: one for adults, presided over by chef Walter Redaelli, and one for children aged 4 to 9.

The 2025 edition of Appicicchia was held on Sunday, July 13, in the village of Castelmuzio, a hamlet of Trequanda (Siena). Teams met in Piazza della Pieve, where participants tried their hand at rolling pici to be cooked and served within the allotted time. Two juries evaluated the tests: the adult jury, presided over by chef Walter Redaelli together with some village representatives, and an original jury of children aged 4 to 9. The day also included a pici rolling workshop (in Italian and English, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM) and a dinner for all participants in the village streets, featuring pici with Valdichiana aglione garlic sauce or Chianina beef ragù.
