Aperitivi in Riviera, the toast that opens summer

Aperitivi in Riviera is the event that marks the official start of the summer season in Porto Potenza Picena, the seaside district of the Municipality of Potenza Picena, in the province of Macerata, in the Marche region. The formula is simple and successful: a widespread and travelling aperitif that, for one evening, animates the seafront and the streets of the centre simultaneously, inviting residents and tourists to stroll from one venue to another amidst glasses, appetisers, and music.

A tasting route along the Riviera

The heart of the event is the travelling aperitif route: a map guides the public through the seventeen participating establishments—beach clubs, bars, restaurants, and pubs—each with its own food & drink offering. The tastings showcase local specialities and the work of Marche wineries, with wines, beers, and cocktails paired with small local cuisine tasters. All accompanied by entertainment and live music, which liven up the Riviera atmosphere as the sun sets.

In addition to the convivial dimension, Aperitivi in Riviera has a precise objective: to promote the food and wine excellences and the territory of Potenza Picena. The collaboration with numerous wineries from the Marche region also makes the evening a small regional wine showcase, where the public can discover labels and producers in an informal and festive setting, just a stone's throw from the sea.

A community-shared event

The event is promoted by the ARA Association (Restaurateurs and Hoteliers) in collaboration with the Municipal Administration of Potenza Picena and with the support of the Pro Loco. Over the years, Aperitivi in Riviera has become a regular and identifying event for Porto Potenza Picena: the signal that the bathing season on the Macerata Riviera has officially begun. Admission is free, and the event is designed to involve families, young people, and visitors in a festive atmosphere.
