The Ferragosto festival of the Po Delta

The Antica Sagra di San Rocco is the patronal festival of Rosolina, a municipality in the province of Rovigo located in the heart of the Po Delta. Dedicated to the patron saint, whose feast day is August 16th, it is one of the most cherished events of the Polesine summer, capable of attracting residents, holidaymakers, and tourists during the central days of Ferragosto.

Evenings of music and fun

The program unfolds in the days leading up to and accompanying August 16th, with a packed schedule of musical evenings, dancing, entertainment, and activities for all ages. Concerts by local bands, DJ sets, and dance nights liven up the centre of Rosolina, in a festive atmosphere that characterises Ferragosto in the Polesine region.

Tombola, lottery, and fireworks

Among the unmissable events are the tombola (a traditional Italian lottery game), the lottery, and especially the fireworks display that concludes the festival, illuminating the sky of the Po Delta. The sagra thus combines the religious dimension of the patronal festival with a convivial and popular one.

A community festival

Organised by the Municipality of Rosolina along with the Pro Loco and the Festival Committee, with the contribution of local associations such as the "Amici di San Rocco" (Friends of San Rocco), the Antica Sagra di San Rocco testifies to the vitality of the patronal festivals in the Polesine region, where volunteerism and community identity translate into days of music, food, and shared celebration.
