The summer review of family theatre in the courtyard of the San Francesco Civic Museum
The 'Chioggia che storia… e che spettacolo al museo!' review brings children's theatre to the courtyard of the San Francesco Civic Museum of the Southern Lagoon, outside the walls, one of the most evocative cultural sites in Chioggia, in the province of Venice. The evening shows, at 9:15 PM, feature performances for children and families by nationally acclaimed companies.
The programme alternates traditional fairy tales and literary classics, reinterpreted with a theatrical language suitable for younger audiences: from the fable of Cupid and Psyche to The Frog Prince, from Pinocchio to Around the World in 80 Days. Companies such as Tres Bien, Gruppo Panta Rei, Gli Alcuni, and Bam! Bam! Teatro take turns on stage.
The event is organised by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Chioggia together with the Arteven Circuit and the Pro Loco (local tourism board), and represents one of the most beloved summer events for the people of Chioggia. The museum, a treasure chest of lagoon history, thus also becomes a space for live performance.
The summer review 'Chioggia che storia… e che spettacolo al museo!' returns from July 3 to September 4, 2026, in the courtyard of the San Francesco Civic Museum outside the walls, with performances for families at 9:15 PM.
Six events featuring fairy tales and classics reinterpreted, entrusted to nationally renowned companies. The event is organised by the Department of Culture with the Arteven Circuit and the Pro Loco of Chioggia.
Chioggia is reachable by car via the SS309 Romea, from the A4 (Padova Est exit) or the A13. By train to Rovigo or Venice, then by bus. The San Francesco Civic Museum outside the walls is located in the historic centre.
Performances at 9:15 PM. Tickets at a low price (full price 5 euros, with a promotion for 3 shows at 4 euros each).
