The great summer festival of the Po Delta, one of the oldest in Polesine
Few events in Polesine can boast the longevity of Agosto Arianese: the festival of Ariano nel Polesine, in the heart of the Po Delta Park in the province of Rovigo, dates back as far as 1690. For over three centuries, every early August, the town gathers around Piazza Garibaldi for one of the most cherished events in the Delta area, organized with dedication by the Pro Loco Ariano nel Polesine.
The program unfolds over several days, blending the popular spirit of Venetian festivals with the flair of modern celebrations. Every evening, the square hosts ballroom orchestras and dancing, while the funfair welcomes families and children. There are also rich lotteries with significant prize money, exhibitions, a motorcycle display curated by the Moto Club Ariano, and charity fishing, all in pure Ariano style.
Among the most anticipated moments is the Notte Gialla (Yellow Night), defined as the festival of associations par excellence: the town dresses in yellow, shop windows and houses are decorated, and local volunteers bring streets and squares to life. The conclusion is marked by the celebrations of San Ghitàn, with Holy Mass, a procession, and the grand pyromusical show that lights up the Delta sky.
Alongside the fun, Agosto Arianese is also an opportunity to taste the typical products of the region and breathe in the identity of a community that, year after year, renews its bond with its history. For those visiting the Po Delta Park, it is the best way to discover the most authentic soul of this corner of Veneto.
The Pro Loco Ariano nel Polesine renews the appointment with Agosto Arianese in the first days of August 2026. The festival's structure follows the established pattern: evenings of music and dancing in Piazza Garibaldi, a funfair, rich lotteries, exhibitions, and charity fishing, with the highlights of the Notte Gialla and the San Ghitàn celebrations.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be announced by the Pro Loco in the weeks leading up to the festival. The usual structure includes:
