Ancient San Marco Fair

A tradition of the Asti Monferrato

The Ancient San Marco Fair is one of the most deeply rooted events in the calendar of Cocconato, a small village in the Province of Asti known as the "Monferrato Riviera" for its mild climate and panoramic position over the Piedmontese hills. Every year, on April 25th, the town's historic center transforms into a large open-air market that draws visitors from across the region, blending a traditional fair atmosphere with a lively village festival.

A hundred stalls of flavors and crafts

The heart of the event lies in the more than one hundred stalls spread along Via Roma and Corso Pinin Giacchino, where local artisans and producers display the food and wine excellence of the territory, local crafts, and typical Monferrato products. Alongside the food stands, you will find flowers, plants, gardening supplies, hobbies, and traditional farming tools, in a route that winds through the entire village.

Lunch under the Arcades and the Wellness Area

The highlight of the day is the traditional lunch, served from 12:00 PM under the municipal arcades in Piazza G. Melchiorre by Cocconato's associations, the Pro Loco, and the Consortium: typical dishes, cured meats, and Robiola cheese accompany the celebration. In the College Courtyard and the Multipurpose Hall, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, the Wellness Area is set up with holistic disciplines, treatments, consultations, and a series of afternoon conferences.

Exhibitions, motors, and nature

The day is enriched with offerings for every taste: two art exhibitions along Via Roma, guided walking and cycling tours through the hills, and the Hills Motor Tour at the Fair, a motorcycle gathering departing in the morning from Piazza Cavour. A widespread program that makes the Ancient San Marco Fair an opportunity to discover Cocconato and the Asti Monferrato on one of the most vibrant days of the year, in the heart of Piedmont.
