Nearly 150 years of history combining trade, agriculture, and entertainment in San Bonifacio
It is one of the longest-standing historic fairs in the Veronese area: the Ancient Saint Mark's Fair in San Bonifacio (province of Verona) has surpassed 140 editions and continues to attract thousands of visitors every spring from all over eastern Verona and beyond. Linked to the Saint Mark's Day celebration (April 25th), the fair has its roots in the mercantile and agricultural tradition of the area and has managed to renew itself, becoming a large, widespread festival in the historic center.
For four days, San Bonifacio changes its appearance. The commercial expo occupies Corso Venezia and Via Marconi; the agricultural fair and exhibition stands liven up the streets of the center; the street food finds its home at Parco dei Tigli; the large funfair – the "San Marco Funtasy Land" – is set up in Piazzale Palù; while the marquees in Piazza Costituzione host shows and associations. The heart of the celebrations is the Special Market on April 25th, which fills the center with stalls.
Alongside commerce, the fair offers a rich cultural program: conferences dedicated to sports and youth, meetings with nationally renowned writers like Mauro Corona and Pierdomenico Baccalario, musical performances and tributes, activities for children, and the usual train that connects the different areas of the event on Sundays. A balance between agricultural roots and contemporary offerings that makes the Ancient Saint Mark's Fair an identity event for San Bonifacio.
The 149th edition of the Ancient Saint Mark's Fair enlivened San Bonifacio from April 23rd to 26th, 2026. Four days featuring the commercial expo between Corso Venezia and Via Marconi, the agricultural fair, the "San Marco Funtasy Land" funfair at Piazzale Palù, and street food at Parco dei Tigli.
