Ancient Flavors Festival

Two evenings of taste and tradition

The 2025 edition of the Ancient Flavors Festival took place on July 15 and 16 in the historic center of San Pietro in Lama, in the province of Lecce. The streets and courtyards of the village were transformed into an open-air restaurant, with outdoor tables and the aromas of traditional Salento peasant cooking.

The protagonists were traditional dishes: hot and crispy pittule, pezzetti di cavallo al sugo, friselle with tomatoes and extra virgin olive oil, soups, grilled vegetables, and homemade desserts. The two evenings were animated by Salento pizzica and folk music, with street performances, live concerts, and local craft exhibitions.

July 15-16, 2025 — Historic Center

Over the two evenings, from late afternoon until late at night, the village offered:

• Food stands with traditional Salento peasant dishes: pittule, horse meat stew, friselle, soups, grilled vegetables, and homemade desserts;
• Live folk music and Salento pizzica throughout the streets of the historic center;
• Street performances and concerts that animated the squares and courtyards;
• Exhibitions of local crafts, with ceramics, textiles, and traditional techniques.
