About Abbey Festival

The Ancient Abbey Festival of Badia Calavena, in Verona's Lessinia region, is the village festival that the Pro Loco sums up with the motto 'the party never ends'. Four days of music, food, and volunteering animate the village in mid-June, with concerts, DJ nights, mountain hut gnocchi, seafood paella, and the famous 'col botto' sandwiches. An authentically popular festival, built on the commitment of volunteers, which brings the flavours and conviviality of Veronese tradition to the Lessini Mountains.

The popular festival of Lessinia

The Ancient Abbey Festival is the most anticipated summer event in Badia Calavena, a municipality in Lessinia, province of Verona. Organized by the Pro Loco Badia Calavena, the festival spans four mid-June days of music, gastronomy, and community spirit, summarized by the dialect slogan 'la festa non l'รจ mai finรฌa'.

At the table, between mountain hut and sea

The food is one of the strong points: the gnocchi di malga (mountain hut gnocchi) return, the dish that the Pro Loco brings every year to Soave Taste, while Monday is dedicated to seafood paella by reservation, a great success in past editions. Not to be missed is the 'col botto' sandwich, generous and tasty, with sausage, peppers, onion, cheese, and sauces.

Music and volunteering

The evenings alternate DJ sets and concerts, with a programme that offers some novelty each year. Behind the festival is the work of the Pro Loco volunteers, the true soul of the event. For visitors to Lessinia, the Abbey Festival is an opportunity to experience the hospitality of a Veronese mountain village, between gastronomic tradition and fun for all ages.
