The great western riding fair in CremonaFiere
The American Horse Fair is the largest European event dedicated to the American horse and western riding disciplines. Hosted in the spaces of CremonaFiere, in Cremona, it covers over 100,000 square meters and attracts enthusiasts, professionals, and the curious from across the continent, confirming the Lombard city's role as an international benchmark in the sector.
The heart of the fair is the sports competitions: reining is the premier discipline, with world-class events and some of the highest prize money on the circuit, alongside cutting, team penning, and ranch sorting competitions. Dozens of arenas host hundreds of horses and riders in a packed competitive program that draws the best international exponents of western disciplines.
Alongside the races, the fair offers equestrian art shows, exhibitions, a large commercial area with hundreds of exhibitors dedicated to the western world (saddles, clothing, equipment, accessories), and a rich entertainment program. It is an event that combines the sporting dimension with the trade fair and entertainment aspects, capable of engaging both industry professionals and the general public.
With tens of thousands of spectators expected and a strong presence of foreign participants, the American Horse Fair is a significant event for the economy and image of the Province of Cremona and the Lombardy region. A showcase that brings the best of the western world to Italy, combining sport, tradition, and entertainment.
The 39th edition of the American Horse Fair takes place from May 22nd to 24th, 2026, at CremonaFiere, occupying over 100,000 m² with 10 arenas and more than 17,000 m² dedicated to shopping, featuring over 270 exhibitors. 700 horses, 1,000 riders, 300 RVs for athletes and staff, and over 30,000 spectators are expected over the three days.
Reining is the core of the sporting program, with the 18th NRHA European Futurity and a prize pool of 1 million dollars, ranking among the top five reining competitions globally. Also scheduled are cutting competitions (NCHA Italy Derby and Spring Show, NCHA Days — Cremona is the only European venue chosen by NCHA USA) and, for the first time, Team Penning and Ranch Sorting. A novelty for this edition is an exclusive equestrian art show directed by Nico Belloni in the oval arena of Pavilion D.
