Parade, magic, and comedy in Piazza Gramsci
In Cinisello Balsamo, in the province of Milan, the Ambrosian Carnival follows the specific rite of the Milan diocese, which ends the carnival on the Saturday after Ash Wednesday. This is why, while celebrations have already concluded elsewhere, here the masks take to the square for one last big party. The heart of the events is Piazza Gramsci, where shows and entertainment are concentrated.
The day begins with the gathering of children and the start of the masked parade, accompanied by flag-wavers. In the square, there are successive shows of magic and comedy with artists known to the general public, while face painting, board games, fritters, and typical carnival sweets are not lacking.
Organized by the Municipal Administration, the Ambrosian Carnival of Cinisello Balsamo is a free event designed to strengthen the sense of belonging and social cohesion, celebrating Ambrosian traditions with entertainment suitable for all ages. An opportunity to experience one of the city's most important public spaces together, in the province of Milan.
