The widespread exhibition of nativity scenes in Sesto San Giovanni

Le Vie del Presepe is one of the most heartfelt Christmas traditions in Sesto San Giovanni, in the Metropolitan City of Milan. Every year, the city transforms into a large itinerary of nativity scenes, set up in various locations and scattered throughout the neighborhoods: shops, schools, churches, oratories, apartment buildings, and associations participate by creating their own nativity figures.

A route that involves the entire city

The heart of the event is its participatory and widespread nature. The nativity scenes, displayed starting from December 8th, create a route that crosses all of Sesto, inviting citizens and visitors to discover the different interpretations of the tradition. Shops, educational institutions, parish communities, and neighborhood groups compete in creativity, giving shape to an open-air exhibition that tells the Christmas spirit of the city.

From the gospel opening to the awards ceremony

The event opens with a concert: in recent editions, the inauguration was held at the Church of Santa Maria Assunta with a performance by a gospel choir. The nativity scenes remain open for viewing throughout the Christmas season, until Epiphany. The conclusion is marked by the awards ceremony, which in the last editions took place in early February at the Grand Hotel Villa Torretta.

Le Vie del Presepe represents much more than a simple exhibition: it is a moment of sharing that strengthens the sense of community and enhances the heritage of the nativity scene tradition.
