The Barona Carnival
The Ambrosian Carnival at Barrio's is the carnival celebration for the Barona neighborhood, in the 6th Municipality of the City of Milan, Lombardy. It takes place in Piazzale Donne Partigiane, in front of Barrio's, and is one of the events that animate the city's southwest suburbs during the Ambrosian Carnival, the Milanese carnival that lasts the longest.
Music, Games, and Entertainment
The theme for the 2026 edition is "Piazza Pazza": the afternoon is filled with music, games, and entertainment designed for adults and children. A big masked neighborhood party, with the informal and welcoming atmosphere that characterizes Barrio's.
Barrio's, a Community Hub
Barrio's is a historic youth gathering center managed by the Social Cooperative Comunità Nuova, active in social services and education. More than just a venue, it is a cultural and solidarity hub for Barona, and its events — like this carnival — are moments of meeting for the entire neighborhood.
